The Works
The Discovery
This is the beginning of our journey together. Where we discover the ‘As-Is’ and map out our roadmap for the future.
During this stage, we’ll:
- Identify your brand and marketing goals
- Uncover the role Digital Marketing will play
- Complete and competitor review
- Benchmark your website’s current SEO position
- Execute a comprehensive backlink profile on your site
- And put together your keyword wish-list
With an understanding of your company and a clear vision of your digital goals, we can now start you off on your SEO journey.
The Blueprint
The first month is all about planning for the next 6 months. There’s a saying, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. That is why we use the first month to deepen our understanding of your website, the competitor landscape and identify the necessary building blocks for your SEO success.
In the first month, we’ll focus on:
- Running a full site audit to understand your site’s strengths and weaknesses
- Carrying out a competitor analysis to identify low hanging fruit and new opportunities
- Setting up a consistent reporting structure to ensure consistent performance monitoring
- Developing a comprehensive keyword strategy to guide all of our work for the next 6 months plus
- Creating the SEO road map that will work as the signposts of our action plan for the next 6 months
The Foundations
In month two we take a deep dive into your website. We start to make changes to your website’s structure and technical elements.
- Take action on areas highlighted in the Site Audit
- Set up and connect your Google Tools including Google Tag Manager
- Review and reshuffle your website hierarchy, which includes the site structure and internal linking
- Optimise content elements such as image optimisation
- Review the whole site’s meta profile and update with SEO optimised Titles and Descriptions
The Pillars
In month three of your SEO road map, we can begin making changes to your site’s content. We’ll work on your core content – or your Pillar pages. These are the main pages on your website that we want to drive traffic to. This may not just be your product/service pages but instead could be other pages that drive relevant traffic to your site.
- Identify and analyse your Pillar pages
- Finalise your Pillar page-level keyword strategy
- Make changes to on-page content
- Update Meta data for Pillar pages
- Identify supporting content for Pillar pages
The Walls
The ‘Walls’ are the supporting pages on your website. These web pages are your internal assets that will pass link-juice through to your Pillar pages. While not our main focus, it’s important to ensure your walls are well optimised. It’s important to ensure the Walls are built for the users and not for search engines, although they still need to be fully optimised.
- Existing Wall page analysis to identify which Pillars they’ll support
- Finalise Wall page keyword strategy with related keywords for Pillar pages
- Optimise Meta Data with related keywords to Pillar pages
- Insert internal links to Pillar pages
The Windows
Now that we’ve worked on your existing content, it’s time to start creating new content for your website. During our Keyword research in the Blueprint stage, we should have identified a number of new topics (both Pillar and Wall content) that we’ll now begin to work on.
- Identify and scope out new content from keyword research
- Craft new value added content for your audience
- Review and optimise your blog posts
- Optimise your blog for users and build author profiles
- Generate audience driven content, such as FAQs pages
The Works
Now that we’re happy with the content on your website and we’re starting to build out more content, it’s time to look further afield. While it is possible to rank without a significant backlink profile, it’s extremely difficult. Especially for high-value competitive keywords. This is why month 6 onwards, we look external to your website for your SEO strategy. This involves an element of PR, Content Marketing and relationship building.
- Generating backlinks to your website
- Submitting your website to relevant directory listings
- Guest blogging on niche sites that have an audience
- Reaching out to coordinate with supplier and partner websites
- Identify potential content collaboration partnerships
Some of the top SEO questions asked by UK businesses
Answer: SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the practice of optimizing your website to improve its visibility and ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs) for relevant keywords. This involves both on-page and off-page strategies to increase organic (non-paid) traffic.
Answer: SEO works by making your website more attractive to search engines. This is achieved through various methods such as optimizing website content with relevant keywords, improving site speed, ensuring mobile-friendliness, creating high-quality backlinks, and enhancing user experience. Search engines use algorithms to analyze these factors and rank websites accordingly.
Answer: SEO is important because it helps increase the visibility of your website on search engines, leading to more organic traffic. Higher visibility can result in more leads, sales, and revenue for your business. SEO also builds trust and credibility with your audience by positioning your site as a relevant and authoritative source in your industry.
Answer: SEO is a long-term strategy and the time it takes to see results can vary. Generally, you can expect to see initial improvements within 3 to 6 months. However, achieving significant rankings for competitive keywords may take longer, often 6 to 12 months or more, depending on the industry and competition.
Answer: Keywords are words or phrases that users type into search engines when looking for information. In SEO, keywords are used to guide the content creation process to match what potential customers are searching for. Effective keyword research and usage help your website rank higher in relevant search results.
Answer: On-page SEO refers to optimizing individual web pages to improve their search engine rankings and attract more relevant traffic. This includes optimizing content, title tags, meta descriptions, headers, image alt text, and internal linking. It also involves improving the overall user experience, such as page load speed and mobile responsiveness.
Answer: Off-page SEO involves actions taken outside of your website to improve its rankings. This primarily focuses on building high-quality backlinks from reputable sites, which signal to search engines that your site is trustworthy and authoritative. Social media marketing, influencer outreach, and guest blogging are also part of off-page SEO.
Answer: Keyword research involves identifying the terms and phrases your target audience uses when searching for products, services, or information related to your business. This can be done using tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz. The process includes analyzing search volume, keyword difficulty, and relevance to find the best keywords to target for your SEO strategy.
